Happenings for Rennies:

• Throughout the month, English Country and International Folk Dancing Lessons are offered by the Fairfield Folk Art and Dance Co-op in Fairfield, IA. See their site for specific information.
• July - Bristol Renaissance Festival in Kenosha, WI, continues on until August 26. ATF plans to attend at least one weekend.
• July - Colorado Renaissance Faire in Larkspur continues on until July 29.
• July 10 - Irish Jam Night at Java Joe's in DSM.
• July 13 - Friday the 13th! May you all have a blissfully happy day.
• July 14 & 15 - Tewkesbury Medieval Festival in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, England. ATF wishes they were there.
• July 16 - Ed Conlow's Traditional Irish Music Night at Java Joe's in DSM.
• July 21 & 22 - "Ren Fest" in Wausau, WI.

Feature: Puzzles from A Renaissance Affaire

• A Renaissance Shield — At the front gate was a huge wooden shield that had the festival's name burned into it. Beautiful!
• John-Paul Videotaping — The rose rogue found his magic box again and captured lots of souls.
• MacFarlane Live Steel — To the victor goes the spoils. Or something like that.
• Minstrosity — Josephine plays the hammered...guitar?
• Last Huzzah — Sway back and forth together as we sing a few songs and spread the pickle love.

Review: Faire Signage

Presentation is a big deal for me. When I make a really good meal, I like to place it on the plate in an aesthetically pleasing way with garnishes. When I give gifts on holidays, you can bet that each present will have curly ribbons and colourful paper. Every time I write my best friend a letter, I make drawings of flowers up and down each side of the paper with swirlies galore. Spotlight: Building Wybreg

Some of you may be wondering why Willa and myself have been visiting the small Iowa town of Bonaparte so often lately. Bonaparte is the future location of Wybreg Village. "Isn't that a renaissance festival that already exists?" you might ask. Yes, it is, but that is not the Wybreg Village we are speaking of. That event is officially known as the Wybreg Village Renaissance Festival. That is, it is the renaissance festival located in Wybreg Village.
