JULY WEBWENCH MUSINGS

Wow! We have two whole months without a festival that has to be attended! Just a few months back I was pining for a faire and wishing I had an excuse to put on my garb. Now I'm enjoying my air conditioning and the fact that there is nowhere to rush to on Friday night and no heaps of garb to wash on Monday.

Well, I can't say that we really have these two months off. As most of you know, I am the Merchant Coordinator for the Wybreg Village Renaissance Festival and JP is the Volunteer Coordinator. I can honestly say (for the first time in my life) that I love my boss. Brock Wommack, President of the Renaissance Foundation, has opened his house to us these past two weekends for much brainstorming and constant merriment...and it's not over yet! We plan to spend as many weekends as is humanly possible in Bonaparte, Iowa (the city to which I want to move), making more local friends and getting to know better those friends we have already acquired.

For those not in the know, Bonaparte, Iowa, is a very small town in the southeastern part of the state. If you've never heard of it before, don't worry. You will soon. Very big things are in store for this little town. And we're so excited to be a part of it all!

Enough of my gushing. Let's move on to other things. JP and I are hoping to be able to attend one weekend of the Bristol Renaissance Faire in Kenosha, Wisconsin, but have yet to set a date to that hope. All still tentative.

However, we have promised our most favourite swishy-pokey people, Shattock (see, RST is cling-clangy...Shattock is swishy-pokey) that we will be in attendance on August 26th when they have their audition during the faire at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival in Shakopee. We'll be there whooping and hollaring and I bet you any amount of gold dollar coins that Argyle will have to hush us. Or he'll just carry us off...either way, I'm happy ;)

I am enjoying my time right now as a Merchant Coordinator. This means it is my job to shop at faire and get to know all of these creative geniuses who vend things at faire. This is the perfect job for me, too, because I worship faire merchants. Baubles make me happy! Someday soon I'll have to garb up and have a few photos taken so that I can point to each of my goodies and let you know from whence they came. That would be fun...

Oops...I'm off track again. So let me end this here. May you all stay as cool as is humanly possible this summer and listen to as much Owain Phyfe as your ears can allow. And for goodness sake, may you all come out to the Wybreg Village Renaissance Festival so that my job is secure!
