  • Throughout the month, English Country and International Folk Dancing Lessons are offered by the Fairfield Folk Art and Dance Co-op in Fairfield, IA. See their site for specific information
  • February 12: Traditional Irish Music at Java Joe's in DSM.
  • February 13: Irish Jam (musicians welcome) at Java Joe's in DSM.
  • February 14: WGN airs Hamlet (the one featuring Mel Gibson) at 6:30pm.
  • February 19 & March 5: Ed Conlow's Traditional Irish at Java Joe's in DSM.

Feature: Puzzle Fun! New puzzles!

  • Squires — ahh...the squires from the Hanlon-Lees Jousting Knights & Steeds. The one with the red hair (Jay) is a personal favourite of Willa's. Taken at Wybreg Spring 2000

  • Heartland Wenches is it possible to have too many wenches? The Local 29 (a division of the IWG) invaded and there was much rejoicing! Taken at KCRF 2000

I have to say that the most REAL and cherished memories have come from the 2000 faire season wherein I met the most people of my entire faire career and made some of the greatest and most genuine friends of my life. Odd how that happens, isn't it? You go to faire dressed in clothing you'd never wear in your regular life, speaking in an accent that isn't yours with a name that you made up and yet you get to meet people and shockingly get to see how they really are.. Article: PC Compatible Rennies

Over the past few years I have found that virtually all rennies have computers and are online. Virtually all rennies also run IBM PC compatible computers, which strikes me as quite odd.

A rennie is typically someone with more creativity and personality than your average Joe on the street. Rennies tend to not mind dressing up in tights or a bodice. Rennies don't mind acting silly. Rennies tend to not follow the norm of everyday life. A rennie is a Mac user even if they don't realize it...[more...]
