Feature: Puzzle Fun! Celebrating the
Best
Over the next few issues, we'll be preparing ourselves for the upcoming
season by highlighting the best of the best we've come across at faire.
Everyone in our puzzles can be found in our Faire
Folke section.
- Hanlon-Lee's Own: Sparky
The best jouster we've ever seen (closely followed
by all of the other H-L jousters, frankly). Taken at Wybreg
Village Fall 2000
- Shattock Schoole of Defence
The best swishy-pokey group ever! Are there
any others? Everyone else merely does live steel combat...SSD
takes it a step further! Taken at IRF 2000
- Ren Faire of the Midlands
The best first impression of a festival. We
love this castle facade! Taken at RFotM 1999
- Ethan James
The best hurdy gurdy player we've ever heard. Okay, you got us...we'd
never even heard of a hurdy gurdy until Ethan, but he sure makes
it sing! (Pictured with one of the Fairfield Players) Taken
at Wybreg Spring 2000
- Willa & John-Paul
Okay, okay...I have no idea what we're the best
of, but we're certainly one of the happiest rennie couples! Taken
at Wybreg Fall 2000
Every two weeks we are going to turn five of our
very own photos into a Java-based puzzle for you to solve! If you
have a suggestion as to a photo that would make a good puzzle, let
us know! To see past puzzles, go
here.

Feature: Developing a Ren Faire Character:
Part 3 (Final Installment)
"A peasant squire takes up the identity of his
master when the knight suffers an untimely demise," is the

But don't let this "been done" plot scare you away! I
had the link to this movie's web site sent to me by a friend sometime
last week, but when I went there all you could see was the nice
Flash splash screen with just enough to be a teaser. I registered
on the site in hopes of getting to hear more about it soon... [more...]

WHAT?!? Only two more months!? Oh no! I have once again
lost my entire winter "downtime" to life.I fully intended
to spend my long winter nights sewing my skirts in a calm manner
(isn't that every rennie's dream?)... [more...]
