• August 18 - September 30 - Minnesota Ren Faire in Shakopee, MN.
• September 1 - October 14 - Kansas City Ren Faire in Bonner Springs, KS.
• September 29 - Gaelic Storm in Dubuque, IA, at Loras College at 9pm.
• September 29 - Wylde Nept in Iowa City at The Mill at 9pm.
• September 29 & 30 - Great Plains Renaissance Faire in Wichita, KS.
• September 30 - JP & Willa will have been dating for 2 years and plan to spend that weekend like they did their first...loopy on strawberry wine at KCRF.
• October 1 -Ed Conlow's Tradition Irish Jam at Java Joe's in DSM.
• October 9 - Irish Jam (musicians welcome) at Java Joe's in DSM.
• October 13 - Gaelic Storm in Dubuque, IA, at Little Dublin Irish Fest at 8pm.
• October 13 & 14 - Wybreg Beer Garden in Bonaparte, IA.
• October 15 -Ed Conlow's Tradition Irish Jam at Java Joe's in DSM.

Feature: Puzzles from the ATF A Knight's Tale Invasion at Billy Joe's Pitcher Show

On September 15, AtTheFaire.com invited the general public to join us at Billy Joe's Pitcher Show in Des Moines, Iowa, for a special viewing of A Knight's Tale. Here are a few photos from the event. A full report will follow when we have time to gather the info!

• Sign out Front — A Knight's Tale starts at 9:30pm.
• Posing with the Poster — Ooooo Heath Ledger has such GREAT pores!
• Fund Raising — ATF (with the help of the lovely Lady Ampersand and her handsome bard, James) managed to collect $144 to be donated to the New York Firefighters Scholarship Fund to help the children left behind in the wake of the attacks.
• Dancing Peasant — She's seen the dancing scene in the movie, right?
• Group Shot — Play a game of "Count the Rennies"! And each and every one of them had their meal paid for by JP. Doesn't that make you want to show up at our next outing?

Review: Scarborough Faire Review by a Reader

April 14th was the opening of the Ren Faire Season in Texas at Scarborough Faire. (If you don't count the Irish Festival!) I had spent a little time getting some costumes and ren wear together for some friends to wear and also for myself. . . with childlike excitement, I slept with visions of turkey legs dancing before my eyes. Review: Geneseo Shakespearean Festival

Saturday morning started out with a ride on the golf cart down the hill to the actual festival grounds. I got the supreme luck of getting the seat next to Godfrey, the evil mastermind of Shattock Schoole of Defence. He was sporting a very nice evil mastermind-ish moustache, too, I might add. Review: Colorado Ren Faire by a Reader

All participants at the faire were well garbed, but the patrons (especially this last day of the season) mostly attend in street clothes, with the really "out there" patrons sporting a goth look. I had come all the way from Dallas, Texas to enjoy a day at faire in between our major faires: Scarborough Faire and Texas Renaissance Festival and hopefully enjoy some cooler temperatures.
