ST. LOUIS RENAISSANCE FAIRE - Press Release >>> Ye Olde Press Release <<< For Immediate Release ++ Greater St. Louis Renaissance Faire Preparing for 2002 Season ++ Excitement is building in St. Charles County as volunteers for Renaissance St. Louis, Inc. busily make preparations for the 2002 Greater St. Louis Renaissance Faire at Wentzville. Construction is underway on permanent stages and buildings, rehearsals are being conducted every weekend, costumes are being sewn, and French accents abound! Several acts have already been signed for the 2002 season, including, for the fourth year, jousting provided by Noble Cause Productions three times each day. Musical entertainment inked so far includes Elvendrums, Vince Conaway, Mab, and Lillies of the Valley. Other entertainment will include the comedy of The Loudly Brothers and the Washer Well Wenches, live steel demonstrations by McFarlane Steel, and juggling and magic by Paulo Garbanzo. Special features from Missouri organizations include a birds of prey presentation from the World Bird Sanctuary in St. Louis, a very popular feature for the last two years, and a petting zoo courtesy of the Troy 4-H Club. The pirates are putting the finishing touches on their 64-foot pirate ship stage. The Rogues Wharf will again be popular with live sword play, singing pirates, and the daily sing along to close each day. New for 2002, visit our Faerie Woodland area, complete with an alchemists lab, mystics, wizards, faeries, elves, goblins, and creatures of legend. Craft vendors confirmed for the 2002 season include pewter by Astral Sea, costumes by Sofi's Stitches, silver jewelry by Vulcan's Forge, and Ash & Griffin Pottery. Among the demonstrations scheduled so far are a blacksmith and weavers. Patrons can visit our Web site for a $2 off coupon and up-to-date road construction information.
