Since Willa (the Wench) now has such a regal-looking fan, it was necessary to come up with a backstory to cover just why a woman of such a low ranking would have such a gloriously decadent fan. It was decided that the fan was created especially for Willa by a male artist-type person who is infatuated (as most men are) with her...umm..red hair. Yeah...that's it.  |
WILLA GETS A NEW FAN!
It was a strange series of events that lead to this wonderful fan becoming mine. It had to do with an unexpected birthday check paired shortly thereafter with an e-mail from a potential vendor for Wybreg that I *had* to check out. I immediately fell in love with Janie Topp's works of art! (It didn't hurt that she had orange feathers in stock, either.) I spent quite a bit of time on LadyDianottos.com, where I decided to spend $25 on myself and have a fan custom-made for me. The feathers are creme and tangerine (all photos seem to make them look more yellow...but they're definitely tangerine!) and the handle has been hand-painted! Each fan that Janie makes is handmade, and you can tell that a lot of talent and love is put into each one! She has a long line of products, including different types of fans and boxes. She's an extremely talented lady! My only suggestion is that she bring the boxes and the fans together and make a box you can store your fan in! I am almost afraid to use this beauty! The fan measures just under an inch short of being 2 feet long and it is 18 inches across. The handle has been water & sweat-proofed, too! I just adore this fan!
