A Knight's Tale Picture Show

INTRODUCTION

The musical Rocky Horror Picture Show has somehow managed to become one of the longest running movies of all time thanks to a wonderfully twisted cult following. Midnight showings happen around the world (even in Des Moines, Iowa) as fans dress up and go play along with this wonderfully bad movie. The audience interaction involves speaking along with the actors and, more often, adding bits of dialog and commentary that the original writers likely never envisioned.

A Knight's Tale lends itself very easily to this kind of tribute and so we are proud to present the first (that we know of) official unofficial home page for the rennie version of Rocky Horror. (Sweet transvestite outfit sold separately...)

DESCRIPTION

Dress in your best (or worst) full or partial renaissance garb and go see A Knight's Tale. Pay close attention to the various sections outlined on this web page and play along. DO NOT DO THIS in a crowded theater with other paying customers around you. Most likely they just wanted to see the movie and not hear a bunch of smartass rennies having fun.

EXAMPLES

SCENE: Stomp stomp clap. Stomp stomp clap. During We Will Rock You be one with the crowd.

SCENE: When you first see Joseline at the joust wearing that odd hat that looks like a lamp shade, reach out in front of you and mimic pulling on a lamp switch cord. Bonus points for making the switch "click" sound.

SCENE: When Sir Ulrich arrives at the ball wearing his new green tunic, Joseline compliments him on it. Add the dialog "...but I feel a little tense". (tense == tents. His tunic was made out of a tent.)

SCENE: Wat delivers the love letter to Joselyn. At one point she will roll it up and hold it up to her chin. When she does this, make the sound of blowing across a bottle. Trust me, it's funny when it happens :-)

SCENE: During the joust sequence when we first meet Count Adimar he will take a few moments to explain the rules of the joust. During this scene, his Peter Tork-looking sidekick will go away then walk back onscreen with a bird on his arm. Simply say "I've got a bird" each time the scene shows him there. It happens several times and each time you will wonder "what's up with the guy and the bird on his arm?"
